Who we are:
Built with natural materials, insulated with wood fiberboard and mineral wool, furnished with solid and traditional wood furniture, with wood and natural stone floors, the Berghotel respects the surrounding nature. The Berghotel is located in Sesto in Val Pusteria, surrounded by the magnificent Sexten Dolomites, valleys and forests. An intact nature is essential; we take care of it and treat it with care. We live in a place where you can still drink from streams and where the air could not be purer. And we want to keep it that way!
Tell us about sustainability, what are you good at?
We don’t like plastic. Our food is locally sourced, regional, organic and of the highest quality. We don’t waste anything. Our sustainability and ecological responsibility are a current reality, not just a future intention. It is not only the Berghotel building that is solid and traditional, but so is its management; respectful of resources, committed to sustainability in every area and taking their responsibility towards the natural world.
Why did you choose GSTC certification?
Environmental protection – sustainability – throwing away as little as possible… we have been doing this for a long time, and not just because it is trendy and good marketing. We were among the first hotels in the world to obtain GSTC certification. For us it is important to make people understand what we do both through our actions as well as through an international certification based on regular and impartial audits.
