About Us:
Vireo Caribbean is the branch of the World-leading, Italian, Sustainability Certification company, Vireo SRL, established to serve the needs of the Caribbean Region. As the Global Destination of choice in 2023 with 7 of the top 10 destinations, the Caribbean region is unique, given the high visitor numbers and the small geographical size of its territories. In light of this paradigm, the risk of exploitation, if not damage is significantly high. Therefore, sustainability management is of paramount importance to ensure that, the environment and infrastructure are managed to allow for the region to continue to and successfully serve locals and tourism industry alike.
The establishment of the Vireo Caribbean operation, is a testament to Vireo’s commitment to world-wide sustainable development of the tourism industry. Our operation will certify Hotels and Tour Operators across the Caribbean region, that are compliant with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) standards. To this end, regional operators by way of their certificates, will be able to unbiasedly and unquestionably attest to their commitment to supporting environmental conservation, local community development, promotion of local culture and the green economy evidenced by their systematic processes of sustainability management.
